What is Coaching?

And what is it not....

Coaching: 

  • Is a conversation or a series of conversation to help you explore, develop and grow personally, professionally or both 
  • Is about giving yourself time and space to think things through in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space 
  • Raises your self-awareness 
  • Takes effort and commitment from you – it’s an investment in yourself so you need to be committed to it to get the most out of it 
  • Can be transformative – with support and feedback, as well as the expertise of your coach, it will get you thinking in ways you may not have considered before and challenge some of those limiting beliefs 


Coaching is not: 

  • About giving advice – you are the expert in yourself and your own life 
  • There to solve problems for you – as your coach I believe you have the answers, we just need to unlock them. 
  • Therapy – although we may explore values, beliefs and emotions in your coaching sessions, if you are unwell you need to seek appropriate support from medical professionals, and we can signpost you to that
